Centennial, CO – South Suburban Parks and Recreation www.ssprd.com offers golfers of all skill levels a variety of fun and challenging courses to choose from. With three 18 hole courses, one 9 hole course along with a par 3 course at South Suburban, the parks district may have the best public golf course selection in the Denver metro area.
The name sake South Suburban course is located on Colorado Boulevard between Dry Creek and County Line Road in Centennial. A full 18 hole par 72 course paired with a challenging par 3 course and driving range give the suburbanites a great option for their golfing dollar. The 18 hole course offers rolling fairways and some of the most challenging greens in the metro area. Local residents can acquire a resident south suburban card and receive a discounted green fee of $32 and non-residents will pay a low price of $43 for 18 holes. They also offer a 9 hole resident fee of $19 and non resident fee of $23. The par 3 fee is a paltry $10 for residents and $13 for others.
Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel, located at 9808 Sunningdale Blvd, offers a very challenging golf course for more accomplished golfers. They offer a country club atmosphere with 4 sets of tee boxes to offer a championship level golf course. Well manicured fairways and green paired with challenging bunkers make Lone Tree what I would call the BEST public golf course in the metro area that the average golfer can afford. Residents pay $46 and can bring a guest for a discounted $53 down from the standard $60 fee. Great views and an excellent restaurant offer any player a great 19th hole option after a round of golf.
Littleton Golf and Tennis club, located just off of Sante Fe at 5800 Federal Boulevard, offers a budget minded golfer a well maintained course for a low 18 hole price of $25 for residents and $30 for non residents. Paired with a tennis club, Littleton offers country club settings for the average Joe golfer and tennis player. The course is a par 63 course and caters to the local golfer still finding their way in the game of golf.
Family Sports Golf is South Suburban’s only 9 hole golf course. Located near the Denver Broncos practice facility in Centennial (6901 S. Peoria) Family Sports offers a course for players of all abilities along with a state of the art practice facility. The driving range is open year round and offers 30 covered and 25 grass tees. The two tiered driving range is even heated for those of you getting your golf Jones during the winter. 9 holes will cost residents $16 and non residents only and extra dollar at $17. They offer golf carts, but the Par 31 executive course is an easy walk to get your daily work out.
Give South Suburban a shot with your summer golfing dollars and you won’t be disappointed.
