Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA – Can someone let the Denver Nuggets know that the regular season is history, and the playoffs are now underway? In the first game of the best of seven series vs the Lakers, Denver looked lethargic and clueless in a 103-88 loss. The game was never close, as the Nuggets had better come strong in game 2 on Tuesday to have any hope of winning this series. Kobe Bryant and his crew toyed with Denver, as they expected to win while their opponents instead were simply hoping to win. Los Angeles has a huge experience advantage, as well as being a bigger team in general. The Nuggets only hope in this series is to show up with more energy and passion, something they severely lacked on Sunday. Denver scored 16 points less than their season average, which they will have to improve on immediately. Defense was nonexistent vs L.A. as well, as the Lakers did not have to struggle much at all to score. This blowout loss could end up being a blessing in disguise though, as the Nuggets will have two days in SoCal to chew on this meager performance. Tune in Tuesday at 8:30pm to see how Denver responds.
