Aurora, CO – Heather Gardens Golf course www.heathergardens.org located at 2888 S. Heather Gardens Way, (I-225 and Parker) offers a challenging and affordable 9 hole executive course. Most small courses only offer Par 3 holes, but Heather Gardens has 4 Par 3, 3 Par 4 and 1 Par 5 hole. Even skilled golfers will need to bring their whole bag and even your Driver will be needed on at least three holes. ]
Greens fees are incredibly reasonable even for non-residents. 9 holes will cost you $13.50 as a non-resident, guests and seniors $9.50 and juniors only $6.50. Golf carts are available for an additional $7.50 and they have a decent sized club house and pro shop.
The course starts you off with a 166 yard par 3 and is followed up with another par 3 stretching 185 yards. After the first two par 3 holes, a pretty challenging par 4 hole stretches 373 yards. Teeing off, a player can’t see the pin so just hit it straight down the fairway for a nice easy approach on your second shot. Hole 3 has a challenging green with two levels so it depends on pin placement. Hole 4 is another par 4 that you can use driver on. Stay right on the fairway as there are bunkers on the left along with a long rough.
Next up on hole 5 is a long 202 yard par 3. Most golfers can reach with a rescue club but there is a large bunker on the very front of the green so aim right as there is a good amount of green to use. Hole 6 offers another par 3 that stretches 190 yards but is downhill so you can club down a bit and use the slope to your advantage. Hole 7 is the toughest hole on the course running 472 yards and is a par 5. Get the big dog out and let it rip straight down the fairway. There is a small lake on the right so stay left but avoid the trees as you will have a tough approach. Hole 8 now offers a short par 3 but you do have to carry a small water hazard – just use a short pitching wedge for the 129 yards to the pin. Hole 9 is a fun 373 yard par 4 hole. The men’s tees are elevated a bit and are surrounded by trees and the player must carry a small water hazard to the left and right in front of the tee box. Second shot should be an easy 100 yard shot for bigger hitters.
Heather Gardens offers an affordable 9 holes for players of all skill levels. I highly recommend for all golfers but especially for players just getting started in the sport but tired of those short par 3 courses.
