Peoria, AZ – Colorado Rockies pitcher Jamie Moyer has a solid first three innings before trouble hit in the fourth inning. Moyer gave up 4 runs but only one was earned as the defense was marred with errors. Moyer ended up throwing 109 pitches and seems ready for his game 2 start against the Houston Astros on Saturday.
Although there were 2 errors by the Rockies defense in the game, Carlos Gonzalez showed he is in mid season form when he gunned out Chone Figgens at third base after a single flair into left field. Gonzalez also had a line drive bullet double showing his power is ready for the season.
Moyer took the loss with Seattle’s Hernandez throwing 4 scoreless innings before Wilin Rosario continued his hot pace with a home run to left in the 5th inning, his 4th home run of spring training.
Final score – Rockies 2, Seattle 7
