Lodo, Denver – Biker Jim’s Dogs – Many fans like to wander down town before the start of a game looking for a great bite to eat before entering the game. Don’t get me wrong, I love a Rockies dog and a beer, but taking out a second mortgage to pay for it puts a pinch on many pocket books. There are hot dog stands all around and who doesn’t love a burrito from Nancy out front at 20th and Blake.
Two blocks from Coors Field lies Biker Jim’s Dogs on 22nd in-between Larimer and Market street. The restaurant stemmed from Jim’s food cart on 16th street and is a huge success so far. The layout is open with garage doors at the front allowing the summer air to flow naturally and spread the aroma of grilled dogs out to the street. They have a full bar with specials on shots and beer.
The menu is what sets Biker Jim’s apart from other hot dog joints. One might be looking for the every day all beef hot dog. Try the all beef wrapped in bacon!! That’s right, wrapped in bacon. Moving away from the average all beef, Jim’s offers Elk, Wild Boar, Duck and Pheasant. Toppings include your traditional ketchup and mustard, but they also offer creamy horseradish, tomato chutney. OR try one of their off the chart toppings like cream cheese and caramelized onions, New Jersey style chili, Pinto beans, jalapenos and tomatoes or Wasabi aioli with caramelized apple with shaved horseradish.
Sides include the traditional hand cut fries but there are other options as well. Charred Tahini cauliflower, Deep fried Mac n’ cheese or Fried Green Tomatoes give the diner a different twist. They also have a daily desert and ice cream sandwiches.
If all you have is a ten spot, their combo deal includes a classic dog (you can choose from any of the dogs listed), house made fries and a fountain drink or PBR in a can. After taxes it rounds up to $9.99.
Check out their website, bikerjimsdogs.com for a listing of location and their menu. Give them a shot before or after a game. They are open late on weekends and until 10PM on weekdays.

Yes, but are they clean bathrooms? I can handle an adventure to the bathroom but not in the bathroom
For the foodies out there check out the episode on Food Network that featured Biker Jim’s Dogs.

The only drawback to Jim’s is the restroom location…..down a long hall and it’s quite a trek…..prepare accordingly, fans!
